geomar_logo_kurzThe Research Unit Paleoceanography at GEOMAR investigates the variability of water masses of the ocean in time and space and their interaction with climate. Signals recorded in natural archives (e.g., cold-water corals) are used to reconstruct and to better understand the dynamics and controlling factors of the these reef ecosystems and carbonate mound development with respect to oceanography and climate.
